Piano Lesson FAQ's

Do I Need A Piano At Home?

Yes, you definitely need some kind of practice instrument at home, whether an acoustic piano or a keyboard.

How Much Practice is Necessary?

This depends on the level of the student and how quickly they want to progress. The most important thing is to practice EVERY DAY, even if it is just for five minutes or so. You want to establish a practice routine to really see great results.

A good guide for this is:

  • Young students and beginners: 10-20 minutes a day

  • Elementary Students: 10-35 minutes a day

  • Intermediate Students: 20-40 minutes a day

  • Advanced Students: 45-60 minutes a day

What books do I need and where do I get them?

We will discuss books upon sign-up. These will be bought by the student after talking with the teacher about which one she wants you to have. Those taking online lessons will receive a link from me of where they can purchase the required material.

I use a lot of different books and methods to suit the students own way of learning. Some of my most common method books are Piano Adventures, and Alfred.
